Best Possible Yet Logical Twins Opening Day 2013 Club

Since there’s still not much word as we speak this evening on Twins action from the winter meetings, let’s have a little fun with the best possible roster the Twins could cobble together — reasonably — with only this offseason to do so.

C- Joe Mauer
1B- Justin Morneau
2B- Jeff Keppinger
3B- Trevor Plouffe
SS- Jamey Carroll
LF- Josh Willingham
CF- Ben Revere
RF- Nyjer Morgan
DH- Ryan Doumit

C- Kelly Shoppach
IF- Brian Dozier
OF- Darin Mastroianni
DH- Travis Hafner

SP- Shaun Marcum
SP- Joe Blanton
SP- Carlos Villanueva
SP- Scott Diamond
SP- Kyle Gibson/Manny Parra
Long Man – Gibson/Parra
MRs – Casey Fien, Brian Duensing, Anthony Swarzak, Tim Wood
SU – Jared Burton
CL – Glen Perkins

Outside looking in: Pedro Florimon, Alex Burnett, Drew Butera, Chris Herrmann, Chris Parmelee.

Now this is just as much for fun as anything; you and I know very well that Burnett, Butera, and probably Parmelee will be on the opening day roster. These moves allow the Twins a better bench, more position flexibility, and a pretty dang good rotation. I think this team could contend in the AL Central. Let me hear it via comments, loyal readers!
